What is a New Zealand e-Visa

A New Zealand eTA was launched in March 2019 for eligible foreign citizens. It allows travelers to visit the country for tourism, business, and transit purposes.

NZeTA is a multiple-entry visa that permits one to enter the country numerous times during the validity period of 2 years. The New Zealand ETA for airline and cruise crew members stays valid for 5 years from issue. Each time, visitors can stay in New Zealand for up to 3 months.

The application process for Bew Zealand e-Visa consists of several steps: complete the form, upload documents, and pay the fees. The approval will be delivered to your email address as a PDF document.

Make a paper copy of your New Zealand e-Visa and bring it with your valid passport to the border control.

Each time, a visitor can stay in the country for up to 90 days (3 months). To enter New Zealand again after a 90-day stay, you should leave if for a minimum of 3 days; then you can return, provided your eTA is still valid.

It is not possible to extend your New Zealand eTA. In order to come to the country again, you need to apply for a new permit.

The NZeTA application requires two digital documents to be attached:

Thoroughly examine your approval document. This way, you ensure to successfully enter the country without issues and won’t face other problems like fines or deportation.
