Is an e-Visa available for Azerbaijan?

The e-Visa, also known as an electronic visa, is a digital travel permit issued for eligible foreign citizens by the Government of Azerbaijan. The ASAN visa system was introduced in 2017 to facilitate the online application procedure. Once the document is approved, it will stay valid for 30 days.

Interestingly, Azerbaijan authorities approved a special visa policy applicable to nationals of the European Union (excluding Denmark and Ireland) that reduces the number of documents required for the application.

What are the e-Visa requirements?

The only document you need to prepare for the online visa application is a valid passport. The document must remain valid for at least 3 months from the e-Visa date of expiry.

Since the entire application is conducted online, it is recommended to make sure you have a working device that could be used for the procedure (laptop, tablet, smartphone). It is also essential that the Internet connection remains stable throughout the process.

On arrival in the country, the border check officers will ask you to present a paper copy of the approved visa. Remember that the document in digital form will not be accepted, so you must print it out prior to the trip.

How to apply for the e-Visa?

In order to apply for an electronic visa to Azerbaijan, you must follow a few easy steps:

  • complete the visa registration form
  • upload the photo of your passport
  • check the form for any spelling mistakes
  • make the payment for the visa processing fee
