UAE eVisa — basic information

The UAE eVisa is an electronic visa introduced as facilitation by the UAE Government in 2019. Since then, eligible foreigners can apply for a visa online without attending an embassy in person.

The eVisa to the UAE is designed for tourist and transit purposes and can be issued for single or multiple entries.

Based on the type selected, a person can stay in the UAE for 30 or 90 days during the 2-month validity period. The visa to the UAE can then be extended for 30 days twice without the need to leave the country.

To apply for the UAE eVisa, one needs to fill in the form using personal and travel information, attach documents, and pay the visa fees. After processing, the visa to the UAE will be delivered via email!

Who needs a UAE eVisa

Visitors whose passports don’t offer visa-free access must get a United Arab Emirates visa to enter the country. Still, not all citizens are required to attend an embassy in person.

Passengers from eligible countries (you can see them in the “List of eligible countries” section) are able to apply for the UAE visa online.

All applicants, even minors, must provide a separate online application.

UAE eVisa types

Three types of electronic UAE visas can be distinguished:

• a single-entry UAE visa that allows one entry into the United Arab Emirates for 30 or 90 days;
• a multiple-entry electronic visa to UAE for numerous visits;
• a transit visa for traveling through the United Arab Emirates to the next destination (only for Dubai International Airport).

• Upload the requested documents.
• Pay the visa fees. There are several secure and convenient payment methods available: from debit/credit cards to PayPal.
• Wait for the UAE visa processing to be finished.

On average, our customers get their UAE visa within a very short period of time. Nevertheless, be prepared for a longer processing time, and don’t submit your visa application at the last moment.

The approved eVisa to the United Arab Emirates comes as a PDF document. Don’t forget to make a printed copy.

UAE eVisa validity

The United Arab Emirates eVisa stays valid for 2 months (60 days) from the date of issuance.

The UAE visa can be extended two times for a 30-day period each. You are not required to leave the United Arab Emirates borders to extend your tourist visas. Note that GCC residents, special entry, and 96-hour special mission visa holders cannot prolong their visas’ validity.

Make sure your passport stays valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival in the United Arab Emirates. The expiration of the passport makes the UAE visa invalid.

Transit information

If you intend to cross the United Arab Emirates borders only to get to your next or final destination, you need to obtain a transit Dubai visa.

The Dubai visa for transit has some requirements:

• the time difference between the two flights must be more than 8 hours;
• the only entry point allowed in the United Arab Emirates is Dubai;
• you have to possess proof of booked hotel accommodation;
• a visa to your next destination (if required).

A transit Dubai visa permits its holders to enter Dubai and stay in the country for up to 96 hours.

You don’t have to pay visa fees if your stay is less than 48 hours. If you wish to extend your Dubai visa to 96 hours, you need to pay 50 AED.

Check your eligibility: the citizens of the following countries cannot apply for transit with a Dubai visa:

• Afghanistan
• Iraq
• Niger
• Somalia
• Yemen

Requirements for UAE visa online application

The required documents for a UAE visa include:

• the face photo (can be taken by phone or PC camera);
• a passport bio-data page and the last page;
• a confirmation code from the booked flight to the United Arab Emirates;
• a flight ticket;
• residence proof/ID.

The underage passengers’ online application must include, besides their passport and face photo, a digital birth certificate in English or Arabic.

Passengers traveling by land don’t require a flight ticket and a flight confirmation code.
