Ugandan passport is an official document issued to Uganda citizens for international travel. Ugandan passports are processed by Government of Uganda through the Directorate of Immigration Control (DCIC). They may be held exclusively by persons that are proven to be citizens of Uganda. In January, Uganda government implemented new e-passports.
Currently, Ugandan passport has 77th place in the Henley Passport Index. Ugandan citizens can travel to 39 visa-free countries only with a valid passport on hand. Uganda passport holders can also get an e-Visa to 10 travel destinations, a visa on arrival in 26 countries, and a regular visa to 151 countries.
Ugandan passports can only be issued to and held by the Uganda citizens. The citizenship of Uganda can be acquired by birth, registration, and naturalization.
To apply for an Ugandan passport, it is necessary to follow the procedures prescribed by the Government of Uganda:

A visa on arrival is available for Uganda nationals in 26 countries. An on-arrival visa does not require any prearrangement: travelers are able to receive it upon arrival at the entry point. It is a convenient method, however, take into account that the visa on arrival is not guaranteed and you still can be visa-denied.

To get into other countries, Uganda citizens need to attend an embassy or consulate in person and apply for a regular visa. The application for such a visa may take more time and effort than for an e-Visa, but a regular visa can be issued for long-term period.
