Basic Information about Sri Lanka ETA

The Sri Lanka ETA is an Electronic Travel Authorization that allows all eligible travelers to visit Sri Lanka for tourism, business, or transit purposes. Depending on the selected visa type, you can stay in the country for up to 180 days.

Sri Lanka ETA Types

It is necessary to apply for a suitable visa while planning a visit to Sri Lanka. Currently, depending on the planned duration of your travel and the activities you wish to pursue abroad, you can choose between three types of ETA for Sri Lanka.

  • Sri Lanka Tourist ETA – allows the visitor to enter Sri Lanka once (valid for 180 days) or twice (valid for 30 days). It is issued for people who intend to spend holidays sightseeing, visiting family and friends, or participating in cultural events.
