Kazakhstan eVisa – basic information

Kazakhstan eVisa is an online visa that was launched by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in January 2019. Eligible nationals can now enjoy a simplified application process and apply for a visa to Kazakhstan from home.

There are 3 types of Kazakhstan eVisa you can apply for: a single-entry tourist visa for 2 months, a multiple-entry tourist visa for 3 months, and a transit visa for 5 days. Tourist visas allow a 90-day stay in Kazakhstan, while a transit visa permits a stay that doesn’t exceed 5 days.

To apply, complete the application form, attach the necessary documents, pay the fees, and receive the approved Kazakhstan eVisa by email. Don’t forget to take a paper copy of your visa to Kazakhstan to the entry point.

Who needs an eVisa to Kazakhstan

Citizens of some countries and territories can visit the Republic of Kazakhstan without a visa for up to a certain duration of time. However, if you do not have visa-free access and want to travel to Kazakhstan, a Kazakhstan eVisa is obligatory for you.

Without a valid online visa for Kazakhstan, you may be entry-denied, fined, or even deported. An electronic visa to Kazakhstan is your permit to enter Kazakhstan and legally stay in the country for a permitted period. Kazakhstan eVisa types

The Kazakhstan online visa comes in three types. Review them and choose which type fits the purposes of your trip best:

• a single visa: allows visiting Kazakhstan one time for 90 days for tourism purposes.
• a multiple-entry visa: permits to enter Kazakhstan numerous times and also can be used for tourism matters, for example, exploring the mountains. Its holder can stay in the country for up to 90 days each time.
• a transit visa: is for situations when you need to visit Kazakhstan only to get to another destination. In this case, you are able to stay for 5 days and then you must leave the country.

eVisa Kazakhstan application form

You can apply for a Kazakhstan visa directly from home. Grab your phone and follow this application guide:

• Fill out the online visa application form providing your passport, personal, contact, and travel details.
• Check your information for mistakes, errors, and incomplete boxes.
• Make the payment. You can use any of the online methods offered on our website: a debit/credit card or PayPal.
• Upload digital copies of the required documents.
• Check your email address. If approved, your Kazakhstan electronic visa will be delivered to your email account as a PDF document.
• Make a printed copy of your eVisa to Kazakhstan. When you arrive, border control will check your passport and an electronic visa printout.

eVisa Kazakhstan validity

The validity period of a Kazakhstan visa depends on the type you choose:

• single-entry tourist visa stays effective for 2 months from the issue
• multiple-entry tourist visa is valid for 3 months
• transit visa expires after 5 days

Transit information

Kazakhstan requires travelers to have a Kazakhstan electronic visa, even if they need just a transit and do not plan to leave the airport’s transit zone.

One must apply for a special transit type of Kazakhstan visa that permits a stay for up to 5 days. Don’t wait until the last minute, and try to submit your application beforehand, at least 5 days before your trip, to allow it enough time for processing.

Kazakhstan eVisa requirements

Requirements for an online Kazakhstan visa are pretty simple compared to other visas. The only documents you need are:

• a bio-data page photo of your passport – your passport mustn’t expire for at least 6 months from when you arrive in Kazakhstan; the photo must be clear and contain the full machine-readable zone;
• your face photo (the photo can be taken with a phone camera or webcam; your facial features must be clearly visible; it must be recent it can’t be cut out of the passport);
• a letter explaining the reason for your travel (you only need it if the purpose of your trip is transit).
