Guinea eVisa general information

Guinea eVisa was the initiative of the Government of Guinea, whose aim was to attract more travelers with a facilitated application process. The electronic visa to Guinea can be completed online in a few steps.

The Guinea eVisa is single-entry and available in two types: for tourist and transit purposes. A tourist visa to Guinea enables visitors to stay in Guinea for 45 days, while a transit visa allows a stay for 3 days. Both types are valid for 90 days from the issue.

Who needs eVisa for Guinea

Nationals of visa-exempt countries, refugees, and stateless persons can enter Guinea without a visa.

Also, holders of diplomatic or service passports issued to nationals of China, Romania, Russia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe do not need a visa for a stay that doesn’t exceed 90 days. Holders of diplomatic passports of Turkey can stay in Guinea for up to 90 days.

Types of Guinea eVisa

There are two types of the Guinea visa:

• a single-entry tourist visa for tourism purposes and family visits – it allows a 45-day stay
• a transit visa for transit purposes – you can pass through Guinea to your next destination; only a 3-day visit is permitted.

Guinea eVisa application

The Guinea visa application process is extremely straightforward and can be completed in a few clicks:

• Fill out the Guinea online application form using your personal and travel information.
• Attach the documents specified by Guinea visa requirements.
• Cover the fees using any of the online methods available.
• Check your email account. The approved visa for Guinea will be sent as a PDF document that you then have to print out.

Guinea eVisa validity period

The validity period for tourist and transit types is the same. The Guinea visa stays valid for 90 days (3 months) from the moment of issue.

Note that a validity period is not a permitted period of stay. The validity period is the time during which you can enter the country. The permitted period of stay is how long you can legally reside in the country and it starts from your arrival. It’s 3 days for a transit visa and 45 days for a tourist visa to Guinea.

Transit information

It is mandatory to apply online for a Guinea visa, even if you need to enter Guinea only to get through it to another country. When applying, it is necessary to choose the Guinea visa for transit purposes.

Requirements for Guinea eVisa

In order to apply for a Guinea visa online, you must have the following:

• a passport’s bio-data page photo (passport must stay valid for at least 6 months from arrival in Guinea; the photo can be taken using a phone or PC camera)
• a return/onward ticket
• hotel reservation
• a yellow fever certificate
• sufficient funds to visit Guinea
