Armenia eVisa general information

The Armenia eVisa is an electronic visa implemented by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to fasten and facilitate the visa application process. Visitors may apply for it by having only a valid passport and a good connection to the internet.

The application form is easy to complete. The Armenian visa is delivered to the applicant’s mailbox provided that the completed data is correct, the necessary documents are valid, and a fee is covered.

The process takes up to several days from the moment of applying for approval.

Foreign citizens who want to enter Armenia must select between two available online visa types. Both are Armenian single-entry visas, and the difference results from the length of stay. 21-day trip or 120 day stay are accessible. The first Armenia eVisa is valid for 90 days and the second one for 180 days.

With the Armenian electronic visa, a traveler can visit the country for holidays, family visits, business meetings, or other tourism or business-related purposes.

For a work permit, going to the embassy and applying for another visa type is necessary.

Please note that only selected border crossing points accept Armenian eVisa, so ensure you choose one of them to enter Armenia.

Who needs an eVisa to Armenia

All travelers who don’t have visa-free access to Armenia must obtain a visa to enter the country. Foreign citizens from eligible countries can apply via a facilitated online procedure and get an eVisa to Armenia.

Children must have their own application, but it can be submitted by their parents or legal guardians.

Types of Armenian eVisa

The Armenian government lets foreign visitors enter the country with two available Armenia online visa types. The difference between them is the possible length of stay:

• a single-entry electronic visa allows to stay in Armenia for 21 days and remains valid for three months (90 days)
• a single-entry electronic visa for a 120-day possible stay in Armenia is valid for six months (180 days)

Armenia eVisa application instruction

The Armenia visa application procedure is not complicated. You only need a valid passport and a little time to complete a form. With a stable connection to the internet, you go through the visa application process without the need to visit an embassy.

Prepare supporting documents, ensure your email address is active, and follow the instruction:

• Fill out the form by completing your personal information, passport details, email address, and essential travel information. Ensure provided information is correct. Any mistakes will cause delays or rejection.
• Pay the Armenia visa fee and check for the payment confirmation that will be delivered to your email.
• Wait for your approved eVisa to Armenia to be delivered to your email address. The processing time may take up to several business days. Filling in the form with correct data may save you from delays in visa approval.
• Download a PDF file with the approved Armenian eVisa from your mailbox. The email will be delivered within a few days. It is necessary to print the PDF document and keep it for the entire travel.

Please remember that the Republic of Armenia accepts electronic visas only if a passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.

Armenia eVisa validity

The validity period of an eVisa to Armenia differs depending on its type. The first type of Armenia visa for 21 days of stay is valid for 3 months (90 days) from the date of issue.

The second type, for a 120-day visit, stays effective for 180 days.

Armenia eVisa can be extended for up to 2 months (60 days) in the Passport and Visa Department of the Armenian Police Office.

Transit information

Whether you’ll need a visa for transit through Armenia depends on how long you expect to stay in the country.

If you don’t plan to stay in Armenia for longer than 48 hours, you don’t need to obtain a visa. However, should you stay for a more extended period, you must apply for an Armenia eVisa.

Requirements for Armenia eVisa online application

Required documents

If you want to visit Armenia, you must have:

• a passport, the expiration date of which is not less than six months;
• face photographs (pictures taken by a PC or mobile camera are accepted).

Other requirements

Make sure you apply early enough. At least several days are needed to get the Armenian eVisa approval. Any mistakes may cause delays, so check the completed data twice not to waste time by correcting the form.

When you receive your Armenia eVisa approval, you should print it. Remember that only selected entry ports allow for crossing borders with online visas. Carry the printout of the Armenian online visa and passport during your stay in Armenia.
