Oman eVisa general information

Oman eVisa was introduced in 2018 by the Royal Oman Police. It is an electronic visa available for eligible travelers through a simple 3-step online application process.

The Oman visa application is quick and intuitive. It consists of filling in a form, uploading necessary documents, covering fees, and printing an approved eVisa to Oman. All steps are completed via the internet, so receiving an online visa to Oman doesn’t require any visits to embassies or consulates.

The approved Oman tourist visa is delivered to the applicant’s email address given in the application form. The processing time takes up to a few days.

Travelers have two Oman visa types to choose between. These are a single-entry visa for a stay of 10-30 days and a multiple-entry visa to Oman, allowing a visit for up to 30 days. The first one is valid for 30 days, and the second one – for 365 days.

The electronic visa to Oman may be used only for tourism purposes.

Who needs an eVisa to Oman

Travelers from eligible countries (you can see them in the “List of eligible countries” section) must obtain an Oman eVisa in order to enter Oman.

It is required for travelers of any age, even little children. The applications for minors must be filled out by their parents or legal guardians.

If you are a citizen of one of the eligible enlisted countries, you may apply for an electronic visa to Oman. If you cannot find your country of origin below, you must apply for a regular visa to Oman at an embassy.

Please remember that the residents of the GCC countries may apply for the Oman electronic visa only if their occupation is listed and accepted by the Omani government.

Types of Omani electronic visas

Before filling in an online Oman eVisa application form, you must select the visa type.
Depending on how many times you plan to visit the country and for how long you want to stay in Oman, you must choose between two Oman online visa types.

• A single-entry tourist Oman visa that stays valid for 30 days; it costs 99 euros and allows traveling to Oman for 10 to 30 days;
• A multiple-entry Oman visa is for a maximum 30-day stay at a time and with many entries possible. It costs 149 euros and expires after 365 days.

US nationals may apply for a multiple-entrance visa that stays effective for 10 years from the issue date. Moreover, US nationals can stay in Oman for up to 6 months.

Oman eVisa application instruction

If you want to apply for an Oman visa online, make sure you have a valid passport, and that your country of origin is eligible for obtaining an electronic visa.

Decide what type of Oman eVisa you need and go through the 3-step application procedure.

• Choose the Oman eVisa type and fill in a form, completing it with personal information like name, date of birth, citizenship, passport details, etc. Check the provided data twice. Any mistakes may be the reason for the delay or rejection of the application.
• Cover an Oman visa fee. You may choose between a few online payment methods. Once the payment is confirmed, a unique application number will be delivered to your email.
• Wait for the approval. The electronic visa to Oman will be delivered in a PDF file. Make a printout and carry it with you during the trip.

Remember, the Oman online visa will allow you to enter Oman only if you have a valid passport. You must carry both documents during the entire period of travel to Oman.

Oman eVisa validity

A single-entry Oman eVisas are valid for 30 days from its approval, while the multiple-entry visa for the majority of countries is effective for one year.

The multiple-entry Oman visa for the citizens of the United States is issued for a more extended period – 10 years. While this visa is valid, US nationals can have unlimited times of 180-day trips to Oman.

Transit information

If you come to Oman only to reach another destination, it means you travel for transit purposes.

In this case, you do not need to obtain an Oman electronic visa, provided that you satisfy the following conditions:

• you have an onward ticket to the next destination;
• your stay in Oman won’t exceed 6 hours.

However, if you don’t meet these requirements, you do need to get an electronic visa to Oman.

Requirements for Oman visa online application

Requirements for a visa to Oman depend on what group of nationality you belong to.

Here are three groups of nationals and documents that applicants must provide.

Citizens eligible for an electronic visa to Oman:

• a photo of the bio-data page of a valid passport
• a photograph of an applicant’s face (pictures taken by electronic devices like mobile or PC are accepted)

Nationals eligible for a conditional electronic visa to Oman:

• a photo of a passport (bio-data page)
• a face photograph of an applicant
• a picture of a visa or resident permit from the Schengen Area country, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, or Australia
• a photo of the onward/return ticket (in case of a multiple-entry visa)
• proof of hotel accommodation (for a multiple-entry visa to Oman)

Residents of the GCC countries

• a photo of the passport’s bio-data page
• a photograph of the applicant’s face
• a picture of a GCC visa
• a photo of the applicant’s GCC ID (both sides)

Please remember that a visa to Oman is valid only with a passport that does not expire within the next 6 months after the arrival in Oman.
